Patriots Not Politicians
Somewhere in America a company is shutting down.
Somewhere in America a child’s parents cannot afford an operation.
Somewhere in America a senior citizen is choosing between food and medication.
Somewhere in America a teenager is deciding how to handle a pregnancy.
Somewhere in America a parent is choosing drugs and alcohol over their family.
Somewhere in America a criminal is walking free.
Somewhere in America a child is being hurt by someone they trust.
Somewhere in the world a bullet is striking an American soldier. And,
Somewhere in America a politician is winning an election based on unachievable promises.
Americans are suffering, and we need leaders not politicians.
If George Washington, Abraham Lincoln or John Adams were to run for office today would we vote for them? Americas Founding Fathers, Protectors of Liberty, Heroes willing to sacrifice all for the sake of a young and fragile country. Patriots.
As children we had a simple view of what America should be: Strong, Safe, Secure, Honest, Equal, and the Land of Opportunity.
Many Americans now believe we as a country are at the edge of financial collapse, foreign invasion, corporate corruption, racial division and moral decay.
But America’s heroes have become Movie Stars, Musicians, and Athletes.
Our goals have become centered upon possessions.
Our relationships have become disposable.
And our leaders have become facilitators of special interests.
It is time for Americans; Democrats, Republicans, Black, White, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Rich, Poor, Men and Women to elect Patriots and not Politicians. Leaders who are more interested in the advancement of Americans future than popularity with special interests. People that understand the purpose of government is to serve the community at large and protect our resources while maintaining compassion for the needy, disabled and our elderly.
Government was never intended to be complicated. The more complex it becomes the less efficient it is, requiring more of a personal investment from each of us. Until we reach the point that none of us can support it and collapse is unavoidable.
We have allowed our government to fight politically correct wars, assume the role of an international charity and spend billions on special interests throughout the world, as we struggle to afford fuel for basic transportation, healthcare for our families and a record number of Americans are losing their homes.
We as citizens first have to re-evaluate and understand that in a democracy the strength and success of our nation is the responsibility of each and every one of us, and is a direct result of our choices in leaders. We must be mature and educated enough to promote solutions to issues regardless of political party, race, gender or appearance. If we are unable to put national security and stability above the promotion of both individual and special interests we will continue to see devastating failures at all levels.
It’s not too late. We can turn this country around and show that our generation is worthy of the sacrifices of the founding fathers and so many soldiers since.
Somewhere in America someone will vote like a patriot not a politician.
